About us

We are a  family owned business. Started in 1993 we have grown from a modest shop into a 7000 square foot facility. Woodruff is owned and operated by Anthony Woodruff and Heather Thomson. Heather is our resident master potter with 4 years of formal study and 13 years of practical experience in firing, glazing and of course throwing. Heather also heads up our sewing department and oversees the day to day operations of our cut and sew sewing shop. Anthony heads up our cat  furniture shop which includes our line of caskets and urns. With over 35 combined years experience in the pet products industry Anthony and Heather bring a great amount of experience to this company and to the products we offer to our customers.

Returns Policy

You may return any* product in unused condition for a refund within 10 days of receipt of your order ( catnip spray will void the return option on cat furniture & pet beds ) less the shipping and handling.

Returned items must be in unused condition. ( No hair or stains ) Contact us and we will issue you a return number and a courier whom to ship through.  We have the right to refuse a return that has been shipped without a return number. We can refund shipping costs, only if the return is a result of our error.  

* When returning an item from outside of Canada, the customs document on the packaging must be clearly marked  "Returned  merchandise" and "No commercial value". Otherwise a duty fee is charged by the government, and will be subtracted from the refund.

* We have the right to refuse a return that has been sent without a return number.

*Returned orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
*Returned customized orders are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
*Embroidered items ( beds, mats, pillows ) are non-refundable.
*Embroidered clothes ( jackets, vests, shirts, hats ) are non-refundable.
*Embroidered items where the customer has chosen their own name is not refundable
 unless we have miss spelled the name.
*Personalized pottery where the customer has chosen their own name is not refundable
 unless we have miss spelled the name.
*Fabric is non refundable.

Shipping Damage
An item damaged during shipping will be repaired or replaced at no charge, at our discretion. Notify us at 1-800-335-3771 of the damage within three business days of delivery. The product must be returned unused with its original packaging. If you are returning a product,  call in advance for instructions. We have the right to refuse a return that has been sent without a return number. We do not accept order refunds as a result of shipping damage. Instead, the item will be repaired or replaced at our discretion.

How much is shipping ?

To calculate your shipping within Canada and the United States ( see international shipping for outside North America ),
pick an item and add it to your shopping cart. When it has been placed you will see shipping is automatically calculated for you, midway down the page on the left side. You can choose regular shipping or rush. Our shipping includes the handling charge, insurance and any brokerage fees if applicable in North America.


General Shipping questions

We take extra steps to ensure that your order is packaged properly. You are contacted when your item is being sent out ( by email ), and given all the shipping information about your delivery. We understand that this is of concern to our customers, and as such take the contentment of our customer, through the whole order process very seriously.

Q:
How long does shipping take?
A: Regular orders ship from one to eight weeks. If you are in need of a Rush order please contact us for a Rush shipping quote and we will have your order shipped within five business days or less. ( We cannot offer rush on the pottery unless it is an "in stock" item , please contact us to find out if we have your item in stock.)

Q:
How am I to expect delivery?
A: We guide you through the delivery process. Very large items are sent by courier and cartage companies. Our smaller packages are sent by regular courier or ground post depending on which carrier can provide the best service to your area. You will be emailed when your order is sent out with all pertinent shipping information, including the carrier that will be used to make the delivery.

Q: Are there any other hidden shipping costs?
A: There are no hidden shipping costs. Our prices are listed , and the shipping is calculated on our shopping cart for you. The total price shown is the total amount you are billed for.

Q: I am in a Rural community, do you deliver ?
A: We can ship all small and medium sized packages anywhere, we will contact you if your large package is out of our shipping range.

Q: How do you calculate your shipping costs?
A: Recent major increases in fuel costs and import/export fees have caused our shipping costs to rise significantly. We make no money on the shipping and handling, in fact we pay approximately 15% of the shipping cost. We found it unfair to conceal the price of shipping until after the order was paid for. We are an honest company, with fair practices. A point that has been well taken with our customers.

International shipping

Q: How much extra is the shipping on the "international shipping" ?
A: For Alaska and Hawaii + 5%. For The U.K., Australia and New Zealand + 25%. For Germany, France, the Netherlands and Japan + 20%. To see the exact amount the extra shipping will cost, just add an item to your cart and use the pull down menu titled "shipping international" and the amount will be automatically calculated for you.

Q: I do not see my country listed, do you ship to my country?
A: We ship our Beds, Pottery, and Pet Caskets internationally. Please contact us for the up charge on delivery to your country. 

Q:
What currency are international deliveries based upon ?
A: We quote in U.S. dollars as it is a well known currency. Your credit card will reflect the U.S. price that you agree to on your shopping cart order, converted to Canadian currency. We process in Canadian funds as we are a Canadian company. We follow the bank rates daily, and charge our customers in Canadian funds. Usually your credit card bill will be a few pennies less than your invoice if you are a customer using U.S. dollars.

Pottery/Dishes

Q: Are the glazes non-toxic?
A: Heather herself makes all the pottery out of non -toxic glazes.

Q: How porous are the dishes and bowls?
A: They are turned to glass in the kiln so they become very hygienic, bacteria should not grow because there are no cracks or crevices.

Q: How do I clean the dishes and bowls?
A: By dishwasher or by hand.

Q: Will the dishes easily break?
A: No. We make all our pet bowls extra thick and durable. They can withstand the punishments of daily living.

Pet Beds

Q: Can I wash the beds in with my laundry machines?
A: All of our beds are completely machine washable and dryable.

Q: Will the stuffing bunch up when I wash the bed?
A: Our beds are made properly to begin with. In all cases, we anchor the stuffing in place through the stitching.

Q: Will my dog chew the bed?
A: We make our beds from very heavy fabrics but a determined dog will even chew through leather never mind cotton.

Cat Furniture

Q: Can you customize posts?
A: Yes. If you have an idea in mind or have special needs please let us know. We can modify any post to fit your needs.

Q: Is the cat furniture non-toxic?
A: We do not use toxic glues or paints in the manufacturing process.

Q: How big of a cat can the furniture accommodate?
A: The posts are designed to handle hundreds of pounds of pressure. At trade shows you will see our representatives sit atop our models to display their strength .The nests and cradles will accommodate cats up to 25lbs. If you need larger beds, we also have a 16" diameter tube which will accommodate up to 35lbs.

Q: Do I need to screw the base of any of our products to the floor or put the post against a wall?
A: No. The posts are completely free standing. Even the floor to ceiling post WR012 does not require you to make holes or marks in your floor or ceiling.

Q: How big are the bases on the posts?
A: Small posts like the WR029 have a 16" x 16" base. Medium posts like WR037 have a 20" x20" base. Large posts like the WR013 have a 24" x24" base. If the base size needs to be changed for personal reasons please let us help make this the perfect piece of furniture for you.

Pet Caskets & Urns

Q: How long does it take to receive delivery on a pet casket or Urn?
A: We ship all pet caskets and urns within 1-2 weeks, depending on where you live the actual delivery time is  2-5 days on average.

Q: Is there a latch on the caskets?
A: In accordance with tradition we leave the casket with no locking mechanism.

Q: What are the hinges made of?
A: We use brass plated hinges for the elegance and their ability to withstand the elements.

Q: What type of picture can I use for the picture mounted urn?
A: Any image will do, be it on photo paper, wood or plastic up to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Customizing products

All of the products we sell are made to order. So when you place your order, your product is then made for you. What this means is that changing components, or making a bed a specific size or shape is no problem. We can not stress this enough. We do not charge for this service, so by all means take advantage of buying directly from the manufacturer.
